Yar, Corndon and Sharp Tors - 3 Tors in a circular walk
Sharp Tor from Yar Tor
Yesterday we did 3 tors with magnificent views in a very satisfying circular walk. Parking on the brow of the hill above Dartmeet (the opposite side of the valley to Pixies Holt) you see Sharp Tor to your right. This is one of 7 Sharp Tors on Dartmoor named for its 'sharp' side as seen from the road. If you are wanting to challenge your fitness you might decide to race straight up to the top and continue onto Corndon and then Yar Tors. However, if like us you were thinking more of a Sunday afternoon amble you would head out for Yar Tor first and then Corndon allowing you to climb up the back side of Sharp Tor which is much less sharp! Although it must be noted that we still did need to break into the Kendal Mint Cake at the top!
