Claig Tor - Who knew there was a Tor closer to Burrator than Sheepstor?!
Claig Tor Well I have been to Burrator hundreds of times and never knew there was a hidden tor with a view of the reservoir and Sheepstor Church! In fact, I have walked along the dismantled railway within a few meters of the Tor completely oblivious to its existence!
As you drive from Dousland just before you get to the Dam, park in the disused quarry car park on the left hand side. The Tor is directly above the car park.
After seeking out this elusive Tor there are many paths you can choose to walk around Burrator Reservoir all of which must end at the ice cream van at the Dam! There is also the new Discovery Centre opened recently with a most impressive totem pole outside to announce its arrival!
